This notification, in exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 (61 of 1986) read with rule 3 of the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Rules 1988, formally constitutes an advisory committee named the Technical Advisory Committee. The committee comprises eight members: the Director General, Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes, Mumbai (Chairperson); the Director General, Directorate General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad; the Director General, Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, New Delhi; the Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi; the Chief Controller of Explosives, Nagpur; the Director, National Institute of Occupational Health, Ahmedabad; the Director, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow; and the Head, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.
