The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through Notification S.O. 3607(E) issued on 5th August, 2025, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 70 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000), has declared the computer resources relating to the Government e Marketplace Platform, identified as Critical Information Infrastructure, and their associated dependencies, to be protected systems. The notification authorizes specific personnel to access these protected systems, including any designated employee of the Government e Marketplace Platform, any team member of contractual managed service providers or third-party vendors with need-based access, and any consultant, regulator, Government official, auditor, and stakeholder, all requiring written authorization from the Government e Marketplace on a case-to-case basis.
