Key amendments include omitting "both" and "P. Monodon," from the opening paragraph, inserting an Explanation clarifying that "indigenous shrimp" includes P. monodon for which specific pathogen-free domesticated stocks are available, and mandating that P. monodon aquaculture strictly adhere to the 'Guidelines for the establishment and operation of Nucleus Breeding Centres and Broodstock Multiplication Centres in India' issued vide S.O. 1459(E) dated March 15, 2024. Additionally, the word "broodstock" is replaced with "wild stock" throughout the guidelines, and the phrase "Aquatic Quarantine Facility laboratory at Neelankarai or" is omitted from PART-1, paragraph 7, sub-paragraph (7). This notification comes into force from its date of publication in the Official Gazette.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-07022026-269942 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 523] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2026/MAGHA 15, 1947 MINISTRY OF FISHERIES, ANIMAL HUSBANDARY AND DAIRYING (Department of Fisheries) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th January, 2026 S.O. 552(E).— In pursuance of section 3 of the Coastal Aquaculture Authority Act, 2005 (24 of 2005), read with clause (j) of rule 3 of the Coastal Aquaculture Authority Rules, 2024, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments to the Hatcheries and Farms for Seed Production and Culture of Indigenous Shrimp in Marine and Brackishwater Guidelines, 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the said guidelines), namely:- 1. In the said guidelines, - (a) in the opening paragraph, the words "both" and "P. Monodon," shall be omitted. (b) after the opening paragraph, the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely: - "Explanation: for the purposes of this notification, "indigenous shrimp" includes P. monodon for which specific pathogen free domesticated stocks are already available in the country. The aquaculture of P. monodon shall strictly be practiced as per the 'Guidelines for the establishment and operation of Nucleus Breeding Centres and Broodstock Multiplication Centres in India' issued vide notification number S.O. 1459(E) dated 15th March, 2024." (c) for the word "broodstock" wherever it occurs, the words "wild stock" shall be substituted. (d) in PART-1, in paragraph 7, in sub-paragraph (7), the words "Aquatic Quarantine Facility laboratory at Neelankarai or" shall be omitted. 2.
