The Ministry of Labour and Employment, by notification S.O. 4823(E) dated 6th November 2024, declared the services in Bhartiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran (P) Limited at Mysore (Karnataka) and Salboni (West Bengal) -- covered under item 25 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947) -- to be a public utility service for the purposes of that Act for a period of six months from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The notification, issued under sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Act, notes that the Central Government had earlier declared the same undertakings a public utility service for six months from 29th January 2024 vide notification S.O. 5418(E) dated 22nd December 2023, and that such declaration could not be extended beyond that period at any one time, necessitating the fresh declaration on grounds of public interest. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-06112024-258494 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4442] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2024/KARTIKA 15, 1946 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 6th November, 2024 S.O. 4823(E).—WHEREAS the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services in the Bhartiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran (P) Limited, Mysore (Karnataka) and Salboni (West Bengal), which are covered under item 25 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government has declared the said industrial undertaking to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from the date of 29th January, 2024, vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, number S.O. 5418(E), dated the 22nd December, 2023; AND WHEREAS, the said declaration could not be extended at any one time; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government is of the opinion that public interest requires the said industrial undertakings is declared as public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause(vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government, being satisfied that public interest so requires, hereby declares the services engaged in the said industrial undertakings to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
