6968 GI/202 3 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4602] NEW DELHI, MON DAY , NOVEMBER 6, 2023/ KARTIKA 15, 1945 CG-DL-E-06112023-249898 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue ) (CENTRAL ECONOMIC INTELLIGENCE BUREAU ) (COFEPOSA WING) ORDER New Delhi, the 3rd November, 2023 S.O. 4800 (E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD -12001/04/2023 - COFEPOSA dated 21.09.2023 under the said sub -section directing that Shri Azharudeen A., S/o Alikhan R/o (i) No. 3/738, South Street, Vedhalai, Mandapam, Ramanathapuram, Tamilnadu -623519; (ii) No. 3/676, South Street, Vedhalai, Mandapam, Ramanathapuram, Tamilnadu -6235 19 be detained and kept in Central Prison, New Jail Road, Arapalayam, Madurai, Tamilnadu -625016 with a view to prevent him from smuggling goods, abetting the smuggling of goods and engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping smuggled goods in future . 2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been concealing himself so that the Order cannot be executed. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub -section (1) of Section 7 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Director General of Police & Head of Police Department, Government of Tamilnadu, Chennai within 7 days of the publication of this Order in the Official Gazette.
