NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 2nd September, 2025
S.R.O. 16(E). Whereas, the Government of Kerala has vide its notification number G.O.(P)
No. 133/90/RD dated the 07th February, 1990 and G.O.(P) No. 460/90/RD dated the 29th June, 1990, altered the name
of the existing district of Cannanore to district of Kannur;
And whereas, the Cannanore Cantonment is located within the district of Kannur;
And whereas, the Cantonment Board, Cannanore has determined to alter the name of the existing Cannanore
Cantonment to Kannur Cantonment;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with sub-section (1)
of section 259 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 (41 of 2006), the Central Government, as determined by the Cantonment
Board, Cannanore, hereby declares the Cannanore Cantonment to Kannur Cantonment with effect from date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
