Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through Notification S.O. 2459 (E) dated 27th May, 2025, notifies the Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics (CoEDF), located at 6th Floor, Block K, New International Training Centre Building, National Forensics Sciences University, Sector 9, Gandhinagar-382007, Gujarat, as an Examiner of Electronic Evidence within India. This notification is issued in exercise of the powers conferred by section 79A of the Information Technology Act 2000 (21 of 2000). The scope of this designation includes Computer (Media) Forensics and Mobile Devices Forensics. Concurrently, the Central Government rescinds the earlier gazette notification No. 3390 dated 08.08.2023, published in Extraordinary, Part II- Section 3 - Sub-section (ii).
