This notification, S.O. 1691(E), issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) on April 1, 2026, de-notifies 6.28 hectares from a Sector Specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Information Technology/Information Technology Enabled Services, initially proposed by M/s Shyamaraju & Company (India) Private Limited under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005). The SEZ is located at Kundalahalli Village, Krishnarajapuram, Hobli, Bangalore East Taluk, Bangalore District, in the State of Karnataka. Previous notifications regarding the SEZ include S.O. 1771(E) dated 16.10.2006 (notified 21.76 hectares), S.O. 1852(E) dated 11.07.2014 (de-notified 8.56 hectares, resultant 13.20 hectares), and S.O. 4237(E) dated 19.09.2025 (de-notified 3.40 hectares, resultant 9.80 hectares). The current de-notification proposal by M/s Shyamaraju & Company (India) Private Limited received approval from the State Government of Karnataka via letter No. CI 171 SPI 2023 dated December 17, 2025, and was recommended by the Development Commissioner, Cochin SEZ. The de-notified land parcels, totaling 6.28 hectares across various survey numbers in Kundalahalli Village, are intended for infrastructure creation to serve the SEZ's objective and conform to State Government land use guidelines. Exercising powers under the second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government has approved this de-notification, resulting in a new total notified area of 3.52 hectares for the SEZ.

Further, after de-notification, the land parcels would be utilized for creation of infrastructure which would sub serve the objective of the SEZ as originally envisaged and such de-notified area will confirm to Land Use Guidelines/master plans of the respective State Government. AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Cochin SEZ has recommended the proposal for decrease in area of 6.28 hectare at the Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 6.28 hectare at above special economic zone, thereby making the resultant notified area as 3.52 hectares.
