The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, notifies the designation of the Director, Financial Intelligence Unit, India (FIU-IND) as the nodal officer. This designation is enacted under Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, in conjunction with Rule 3(1)(d) of the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The nodal officer will serve for the purposes of these IT rules specifically concerning Section 13 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. This notification becomes effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
