Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce), Directorate General of Foreign Trade, through Notification No. 16/2025-26 (S.O. 2449(E)) dated 31st May, 2025, has extended the Import Policy Condition for Yellow Peas under ITC(HS) Code 07131010 of Chapter 07 of ITC(HS), 2022, Schedule –I (Import Policy). Exercising powers under Section 3 and Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, and in continuation of seven previous notifications (Nos. 50/2023, 61/2023, 04/2023, 12/2024-25, 29/2024-25, 43/2024-25, and 63/2024-25), the period, previously valid until 31st May, 2025, is now extended up to 31st March, 2026. All other terms and conditions from the referred notifications remain unchanged. The effect of this notification is that the import of Yellow Peas under the specified ITC(HS) Code is categorised as “Free" without the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition and without Port Restriction. This is subject to registration under the online Import Monitoring System and is effective immediately for all import consignments where the Bill of Lading (Shipped on Board) is issued on or before 31st March, 2026. The notification is issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
