RESOLUTION

F. No. E.11014/3/2018-Hindi.—In pursuance of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home
Affairs, O.M. No. 11011/03/2024-OL(Sec.) and in supersession of Ministry of Heavy Industries' Resolution
No. E-11014/3/2014-Hindi, dated 17 March, 2022, Government of India hereby reconstitutes Hindi Salahkar Samiti of
the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The composition, functions, tenure etc. of the reconstituted Samiti will be as given
hereunder:

II FUNCTIONS
The objective of the Hindi Advisory Committees of various Ministries and Departments is to advise on the
implementation of the constitutional provisions relating to official language, provisions of the Official Languages Act
and Rules, decisions of the Central Hindi Committee and directions/instructions issued by the Ministry of Home
Affairs (Department of Official Language) and to promote progressive use of Hindi in the working of the
Ministry/Department concerned. If any Hindi Advisory Committee suggests changes in the Official Language Policy
or any instructions/instructions issued in connection therewith, the Ministry/Department shall refer such suggestions
to the Department of Official Language and shall not act on those suggestions without obtaining the consent of the
Department of Official Language.
III TENURE
1. The tenure of the Samiti will be ordinarily for 3 years from the date of its constitution.
2. If a person is nominated as Member in the middle of the term, he will hold the office for the residual term of the
Samiti.
3. In special circumstances, the tenure of the Samiti may be curtailed or enhanced by the Ministry.
4. Member of Parliament who are the members of Committee shall cease to be members as soon as they cease to be
Member of Parliament.
5. Ex-officio members of the Samiti shall continue as members as long as they hold office by virtue of which they
are members of the Samiti.
IV GENERAL
The Headquarters of the Samiti shall be at New Delhi. All correspondences related to the Samiti will be addressed to
the Joint Secretary (Incharge, Official Language), Room No. 150, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Udyog Bhawan, New
Delhi-110011.
V T.A. AND OTHER ALLOWANCES
(a) The Members of Parliament nominated in the Samiti, will be paid Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance as per
the provisions in the "Members of Parliament (Salary, Allowance & Pension) Act, 1954" and amendments issued
from time to time and rules made thereunder vide Department of Official Language Office Memorandum No.
II/20034/04/2005-O.L (Policy-2), dated 03.02.2006 for participating in meetings of the Samiti.
(b) Keeping in view the high level status of the Committee, Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance to other non-
official members of the Samiti, will be paid as per the guidelines contained in the Department of Official Language
Ο.Μ. Νo.II/22034/04/86-OL(A-2) dated 22.01.1987 and in accordance with the revised/prescribed rates and rules as
amended from time to time by the Government of India.
