L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-02042025-262225 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1544] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, 2025/ CHAITRA 12, 1947 MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 2nd April, 2025 S.O. 1563(E).— Whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that the explosive, namely, electric detonator (explosive of Class 6 Division 3 or UN Class 1 Division 1) is of a dangerous character; And whereas it is expedient for the security concerns and public safety to prohibit the manufacture, possession and import of electric detonator (explosive of Class 6 Division 3 or UN Class 1 Division 1); And whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Explosives Act, 1884 (4 of 1884), the Central Government, after consultation with stakeholders of explosives industry, in the public interest decided to prohibit the manufacture, possession and import of the electric detonator (explosive of Class 6 Division 3 or UN Class 1 Division 1) throughout the country with effect from the 1st day of April, 2025 vide S.O. 4255 (E) dated 29.09.2023; Now, in consultation with stakeholders of explosives industry, it has been decided that the aforesaid prohibition shall be enforced with effect from 1st day of July, 2025.
