Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through this notification dated 30th April, 2025, announces that the Central Government, exercising powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 (34 of 1948), has appointed the 1st day of May, 2025, as the date for certain provisions of the said Act to come into force. This implementation will cover the entire areas of Araria, Saharsa, Aurangabad, Banka, East Champaran, and Gopalganj districts within the State of Bihar. The specific provisions being brought into effect include sections 38 to 43, sections 45A to 45H, sections 46 to 75, sub-section (2) to (4) of section 76, and sections 82 and 83 of the Act. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-01052025-262790 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1901] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2025/VAISAKHA 10, 1947 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 30th April, 2025 S.O. 1944(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 (34 of 1948), the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of May, 2025 as the date on which the following provisions of the said Act shall come into force in the entire area of the Araria, Saharsa, Aurangabad, Banka, East Champaran and Gopalganj districts in the State of Bihar, namely: — (i) sections 38 to 43; (ii) sections 45A to 45H; (iii) sections 46 to 75; (iv) sub-section (2) to (4) of section 76; and (v) sections 82 and 83.
