NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 31st January, 2025
S.R.O. 2(E).—Whereas, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has vide its notification number 76/2018/1574/1-
5-2018-72/2017 dated the 18th October, 2018, altered the name of the existing district of Allahabad to district of
Prayagraj;
And whereas, the Allahabad Cantonment is located within the district of Prayagraj;
And whereas, the Cantonment Board, Allahabad has determined to alter the name of the existing Allahabad
Cantonment to Prayagraj Cantonment;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with sub-section (1)
of section 259 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 (41 of 2006), the Central Government, as determined by the Cantonment
Board, Allahabad, hereby declares the Allahabad Cantonment to Prayagraj Cantonment with effect from date of
publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
