L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-CG-E-11082026-275375 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4257] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, AUGUST 10, 2026/SHRAVAN 19, 1948 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (South East Central Railway) NOTIFICATION Bilaspur, the 7th August, 2026 Notice under Section 20E of the Railway Act, 1989 S.O. 4435(E).— Whereas, the Central Government had declared its intention to acquire the lands specified in the schedules annexed to the notifications issued under sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as 'the said Act') specifically, the notification of the Ministry of Railways (South East Central Railway), Government of India, No. S.O. 2171(E) dated 30th April 2026, published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii)) on 30th April 2026, covering areas in Taluka Arjuni Morgaon of Gondia District, Maharashtra; and the notification of the Ministry of Railways (South East Central Railway), Government of India, No. S.O. 2623(E) dated 25th May 2026, published on 25th May 2026, covering areas in Taluka Sadak Arjuni of Gondia District, Maharashtra-for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management, and operation of the special railway project, namely, the "Gondia-Balharshah (Chandafort) Doubling (240 kilometers)." And whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local newspapers, namely, Hindi Dainik Kashish of dated 11th June 2026, and Bhandara Patrika (Marathi Dainik) of dated 12th June 2026 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act; And whereas, objections were received; Competent Authority has heard the objections and orders have been passed in terms of section 20D of the said Act, And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority has submitted its report to the Central Government. Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose. And further, in the pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of the notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
