                Detailed Summary
            

            
This notification, S.O. 4798(E), issued by the Ministry of Railways (South Coast Railway) on August 25, 2026, and published on August 31, 2026, declares the acquisition of specific lands for the Special Railway Project, 'Third line between Gudur - Renigunta stations (83.17 Km)', intended for passenger and freight facilities in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. This declaration is made in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), following a report from the competent authority. Previously, the Central Government had declared its intention to acquire these lands via notification S.O 2463 (E) dated 11th May 2026, published on 13th May 2026 under sub-section (1) of section 20(A) of the same Act. The substance of the said intention notification was published in daily newspapers, including 'The New India Express (English)', on 20th May 2026 by K.Suryanaryana, Chief Engineer-III, Construction Organization Secunderabad, as per sub-section (4) of section 20A. No objections were filed within the statutory time limit. In pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the Railway Act, 1989, the lands specified in the annexed schedule, totaling approximately 15.44 acres across villages Merlapaka (3.41 acres), Chinna Anjimedu (3.47 acres), Pedda Anjimedu (4.37 acres), Yerpedu (0.87 acres), Seetharampeta (0.18 acres), Krishnapuram (2.14 acres), and Rachagunneri (1.00 acre) within Tirupati district, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances upon publication of this notification.

NOTIFICATION
Vishakhapatnam, 25 August, 2026

S.O. 4798(E). Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways (Railway
Board), number, S.O 2463 (E) dated the 11th May 2026 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3 Sub-
section(ii), dated the 13th May 2026 (here in after referred to as the said notification) and issued under sub-section(1) of
section 20(A) of the Railway Act, 1989(24 of 1989), the Central Government declares its intention to acquire the land
specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and
operation of Special Railway Project, namely "Third line between Gudur - Renigunta stations (83.17 Km)", in Tirupati
district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely “Sakshi(Telugu),
Andhra Prabha(Telugu) and The New India Express (English)" on 20th May 2026 by K.Suryanaryana, Chief Engineer-III,
Construction Organization Secunderabad under sub section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;

And whereas no objections have been filed within the statutory time limit.

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its
report to the Central Government;

Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the
schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government here by
declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed here to
shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances
