                Detailed Summary
            

            
This notification, S.O. 2628(E) issued by the Ministry of Railways (North Central Railway, Engineering Department) on May 22, 2026, declares the acquisition and absolute vesting of lands in the District of Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. This action is for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of the Special Railway Project, namely, "Construction of 2 lane ROB in lieu of L-xing No. 341 at km 1074/8-10 on VGLJ-BINA section of N.C. Railway." This follows an earlier notification, S.O. 178(E) dated January 02, 2026 (published January 13, 2026), where the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11th of 2008). The substance of the intention notification was published in the daily newspapers "Dainik Jagran & Times of India" on January 25, 2026, as required by sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act. Three objections received were redressed and considered by the Competent Authority, resulting in an order. Subsequently, the Competent Authority submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act. Upon receipt of this report, and exercising powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E, the Central Government declares the acquisition. Furthermore, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E, the Central Government declares that upon publication of this notification, the lands specified in the annexed schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. NOTIFICATION
Prayagraj, the 22nd May, 2026

S.O. 2628(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India, in the ministry of Railways (North
Central Railway, Engineering Department), Notification Number S.O. 178(E), dated the 02 January 2026 published in
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 13 January 2026 (hereinafter referred to
as the said notification) and issued under sub-section (I) of section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11th
of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the Land
specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and
operation of Special Railway Project namely "Construction of 2 lane ROB in lieu of L-xing No. 341 at km 1074/8-10
on VGLJ-BINA section of N.C. Railway" in the District of Lalitpur in the State of Uttar Pradesh;

And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely, “Dainik
Jagran & Times of India" dated 25 January 2026 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act.

And whereas, the competent authority redresses the Three objections received and the same has been
considered by the Competent Authority, accordingly order has been passed;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (I) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent Authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (I) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands
specified in the schedule annexed here to shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed here
to shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
