F. No. Comm.Sec./St.2(4)/2025/2873.—In exercise of the powers vested in it, under the provision of
Section 28(2) of the University of Allahabad Act, 2005 (No.26 of 2005), The Executive Council of the
University in its 14th meeting, held on 17th April, 2010 had made amendment to the Clause 4 of the Statute 2 of
the University of Allahabad Act, 2005 concerning the provision for extending the age of superannuation of
Vice-Chancellor from 65 to 70 years and eligibility for re-appointment thereof. This has the approval of the
Hon'ble President of India in his capacity as Visitor, as conveyed by the letter no. 32-09/2014-Desk (U) dated
February 6, 2015 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
Statute 2(4) - The Vice-Chancellor
After amendment, the amended Clause 4 under the Statute 2 reads as under:-
2(4) The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he/she enters
upon his/her office or until he/she attains the age of seventy years, whichever is earlier and shall be eligible for
re-appointment.
