                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Central Government, Ministry of Railways (North Western Railway, Construction Organization), issued S.O. 346(E) dated 25th January 2024, confirming acquisition of land for the Special Railway Project 'Churu-Ratangarh Doubling project' in Churu district, Rajasthan (Ratangarh Subdivision), following the earlier declaration of intent under notification S.O. 4097(E) dated 18th September 2023 (issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008)). The substance of that notification was published in 'Rajasthan Patrika' and 'Dainik Bhaskar' dated 23rd September 2023 under sub-section (4) of section 20A; the competent authority disallowed objections after a hearing under sub-section (2) of section 20D. Pursuant to sub-section (1) of section 20E, the Competent Authority submitted its report, and the Central Government hereby declares, under sub-section (1) of section 20E, that the land specified in the Schedule shall be acquired, and, under sub-section (2) of section 20E, that on publication the land shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. The Schedule (partially reproduced) lists numerous private and Government land parcels in villages Hanumanpura and Khudera Bidawatan, Tehsil Ratangarh, with khasra numbers, land type/nature, total and proposed areas in hectares, and named khatedars/landowners, including parcels mortgaged to Punjab National Bank Branch Gorisar and Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank Branch Sehla. NOTIFICATION
Jaipur, the 25th January, 2024
S.O. 346(E).-Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways (North Western Railway, Construction organization) Notification number, S.O. 4097 (E) dated the 18th September, 2023 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3 Sub-section (ii), dated the 18th September, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification) and issued under sub-section(1) of section 20A of the Railways(Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declares itsintention to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution,maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway Project, namely special railway project of namely "Churu-Ratangarh Doubling project in District Churu in the state of Rajasthan".
And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely "Rajasthan Patrika" and "Dainik Bhaskar" dated 23th September 2023 under sub section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;
And, whereas, the competent authority has disallowed the objections after hearing under sub section (2) of the section 20D of the act.
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority has submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority, and in exercise of the powersconferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the landsspecified in the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central government free from all encumbrances.
