Core Purpose

The National Sports University publishes the First Amendment to its Statutes, revising the composition of selection committees for teaching and administrative posts under Clause 17(2), with retrospective effect from 24 November 2020.

Detailed Summary

Published under Section 25(2) read with Section 42(3) of the National Sports University Act 2018, the amendment substitutes the table below Clause 17(2) of the University Statutes prescribing selection committee composition for Professors, Associate and Assistant Professors, Registrar, Finance Officer, Controller of Examination, Librarian and Principals of colleges maintained by the University. The revised composition draws on deans, department heads and external experts nominated from panels approved by the Executive Council, and mandates inclusion of an academician from the SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women/PwD categories when a candidate from such a category applies and the committee lacks such representation. The amendment was approved by the Executive Council on 7 February 2023 and by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, on 14 August 2025.
