The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), via Notification F. No. DoR.LIC.No.S5379/16.13.300/2025-26 issued from Mumbai on October 8, 2025, has directed the inclusion of eight specific banks into the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934). This directive is made in pursuance of clause (a) of sub-section (6) of Section 42 of the aforementioned Act. The banks designated for inclusion are Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank, Gujarat Gramin Bank, Karnataka Grameena Bank, Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, Maharashtra Gramin Bank, Odisha Grameen Bank, Rajasthan Gramin Bank, and Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank.
