The revised table specifies the Export Obligation Period with pre-import condition, running from the date of clearance of each import consignment by the Customs Authority, for fourteen categories: (1) spices - pepper, cardamom and chillies for value addition (crushing/grinding/sterilisation or oil/oleoresin manufacture) at 6 months, other spices for oil/oleoresin manufacture at 12 months, and other spice uses at 6 months; (2) drugs imported from an unregistered source (with a specific export order and pre-import condition) at 12 months; (3) tea at 6 months; (4) coconut oil at 6 months; (5) silk in any form at 12 months; (6) raw sugar at 6 months; (7) precious metals gold/silver/platinum (Gem and Jewellery Sector) at 4 months; (8) penicillin and its salts [ITC (HS) Code 29411010], if imported from an unregistered source, at 12 months; (9) natural rubber at 6 months; (10) import items allowed under a notified Standard Input-Output Norm (SION) or prior fixation of norms by the Norms Committee, for export of items under Chapters 7 and 15 of the ITC(HS) Classification, at 6 months (excluding Shea Nut, Shea Butter, Palm Mid Fraction, ILLIPE Kernel and Wool Grease); (11) fabrics, including interlining, under the Special Advance Authorisation Scheme for export of Articles of Apparel and Clothing Accessories (Paragraph 4.04A of FTP 2023), at 18 months from the date of issue of the Authorisation, with further extension permissible under Paragraphs 4.40(a), (b), (c) and (e) of the Handbook of Procedures; (12) maize [ITC (HS) Code 1005] at 3 months; (13) walnut in any form at 6 months; and (14) wheat at 6 months. The notice states that the Export Obligation Period in certain existing Appendix-4J entries has been rationalised following stakeholder consultations, for ease of doing business. F. No. 01/94/180/075/AM24/PC -4.—In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, as amended from time to time, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Appendix -4J of the Handbook of Procedures 2023: 1.
