                Detailed Summary
            

            
This notification, S.O. 4174(E) issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on July 27, 2026, declares the acquisition of land for the proposed 4-lane Access Controlled Highway with Paved Shoulders for the Chennai - Tirupati section. This action follows a previous notification, S.O.No. 1461 (E) dated March 19, 2026 (and No. 1396 dated March 20, 2026), which declared the intention to acquire land under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The substance of the earlier notification was published in "The Times of India (English Edition)" on March 27, 2026. After the Competent Authority considered and settled objections filed under Section 3-C and submitted its report under sub-section (1) of section 3D, the Central Government now declares the acquisition of the specified land. Upon publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land, totaling 3.9650173 Hectares, located in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh across villages including Thukivakam, Kalur, Perur, C. Mallavaram, Avilala, Vedanthapuram, Vepagunta, and P.R.Mangalam, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, as per sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th July, 2026
S.O. 4174(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport
and Highways, Gazette of India No. 1396 dated 20.03.2026 & S.O.No. 1461 (E) dated:19.03.2026, published in the
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the
National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the proposed Access
Controlled Highway of 4 lane with Paved Shoulders from Km 74.900 to Km 81.540 of NH-716 and from Km 97.100
to Km. 114.500 of NH-71 for a total project length of 24.040 Km of Chennai - Tirupati section in the district of Tirupati
in the state of ANDHRA PRADESH, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land.
And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in "The Times of India (English Edition)
dated: 27.03.2026 and "Andhra Prabha" (Telugu Edition) dated 27.03.2026 and 31.03.2026 under sub-section (3) of
section 3A of the said Act;
And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and settled
the same appropriately;
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest
absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
SCHEDULE
Brief description of the land to be acquired, with or without structures entry is required for the proposed Access
Controlled Highway of 4 lane with Paved Shoulders from Km 74.900 to Km 81.540 of NH-716 and from Km
97.100 to Km. 114.500 of NH-71 for a total project length of 24.040 Km of Chennai - Tirupati section in respect of
1. Thukivakam 2.Kalur, 3. Perur, 4. C. Mallavaram, 5. Avilala, 6. Vedanthapuram, 7. Vepagunta, 8. P.R.Mangalam
in the district of Tirupati in the state of ANDHRA PRADESH.
