The Ministry of Home Affairs, via Notification G.S.R. 802(E) dated October 29, 2025, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949), has promulgated the Central Reserve Police Force, Sub-Inspector (General Duty), General Duty Cadre, Group 'B' Post Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2025. These rules amend the principal Central Reserve Police Force, Sub-Inspector (General Duty), General Duty Cadre, Group 'B' Post Recruitment Rules, 2025, which were originally published vide G.S.R. 449 (E), dated July 2, 2025. The amendments, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, introduce several changes to the Schedule. Specifically, column (5) now indicates "Selection" for the method of recruitment. Column (7) is updated to require a graduation degree from a recognized University, or an equivalent Army qualification for ex-Army personnel, with physical and medical standards as prescribed by the Central Government. Desirable qualifications include National Cadet Corps 'B' or 'C' certificates, or outstanding sports/athletics certificates. The Staff Selection Commission has discretion to relax qualifications and experience, especially for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes. Column (9) sets the probation period at two years, including a mandatory two-week induction training for direct recruits. Finally, column (10) revises the recruitment methodology to 33% by direct recruitment through the Staff Selection Commission, 50% by promotion, and 17% by Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (failing which, by promotion).

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-30102025-267281 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 717] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2025/ KARTIKA 8, 1947 MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 29th October, 2025 G.S.R. 802(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 18 of Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Central Reserve Police Force, Sub-Inspector (General Duty), General Duty Cadre, Group 'B' Post Recruitment Rules, 2025, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Central Reserve Police Force, Sub- Inspector (General Duty), General Duty Cadre, Group 'B' Post Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Reserve Police Force, Sub-Inspector (General Duty), General Duty Cadre, Group 'B' Post Recruitment Rules, 2025, in the Schedule,- (i) in column (5), for the words "Not applicable", the word "Selection" shall be substituted."; (ii) in column (7), for the existing entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:- "Essential qualification: Degree in graduation from a recognised University and in the case of ex-Army personnel, equivalent Army qualification is required. Note: Physical and Medical Standards for recruitment shall be applicable as the Scheme prescribed by the Central Government from time to time. Desirable qualification: Possession of National Cadet Corps 'B' or National Cadet Corps 'C' certificate or outstanding sports or athletics certificate. Note 1: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Staff Selection Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 2: The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Staff Selection Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of the selection, the Staff Selection Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these community possessing the requisite experiences are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them."; (iii) in column (9), for the existing entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:- "Two years. Note: There shall be a mandatory induction training of atleast two weeks duration for direct recruits for successful completion of probation as prescribed by the Central Government."; (iv) in column (10), for the existing entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:- "(i) Thirty-three per cent. by direct recruitment through Staff Selection Commission; (ii) fifty per cent. by promotion; and (iii) seventeen per cent. by Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, failing which by promotion.".
