Constitution of the National Shipping Board.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 read with Rule 4 of the National Shipping Board Rules, 1960, the Central Government, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has constituted the National Shipping Board. This constitution is for a period of two years, effective from the date of publication in the official Gazette. The Board is comprised of sixteen members including a Chairperson (Shri Sameer Kumar Khare, Retired IAS), representatives from government bodies such as the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and various industry associations and organizations including ICCSA, INSA, CCTA, NUSI, MUI, IRS, Cochin Shipyard Limited, IIT Madras, Sitara Shipping Ltd., and IPA.

A representative of Indian Coast Guard (Not below the rank of Director). 7. Shri Rakesh Singh, Secretary, representative of Indian Coastal Conference Shipping Association (ICCSA) 8.
