L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-28042026-272129 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 291] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2026/VAISAKHA 8, 1948 2996 GI/2026 (1) MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th April, 2026 G.S.R. 315(E).— WHEREAS the draft of certain rules further to amend the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016, were published as required under section 18 of the Explosives Act, 1884 (4 of 1884) vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, vide number, G.S.R. 103 (E), dated the 3rd February, 2026, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub section (i), inviting objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public; AND WHEREAS, the copies of the said notification were made available to the public on the 4th February, 2026; AND WHEREAS, no objections or suggestions were received from the public within the said period; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 7 of the Explosives Act, 1984, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016, namely: 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Gas Cylinders (Amendment) Rules, 2026. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the principalrules), in rule 3, in sub-rule (5), after the words, "touching Indian port" the words, "or cylinders and valves imported by establishments of the Ministry of Defence, Department of Space and its Public Sector Undertakings for their own use" shall be inserted. 3. In the principal rules, in rule 32, to sub-rule (1), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- "Provided that the permission shall not be required in respect of,- (a) empty cylinders without valves; (b) valves and LPG regulators, imported from the foreign manufacturing plants approved by the Chief Controller and having valid import licence in Form-D.”. 4. In the principal rules, in rule 48, in sub-rule (3), in clause (b), after the words, "Liquified Petroleum Gas", the words, "or other flammable gases" shall be inserted. [F.
