Amends the Post Office Regulations 2024 to revise weight limits and introduce a new postage structure for international tracked packet service.

Detailed Summary

This notification from the Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts, amends the Post Office Regulations, 2024. It revises regulation 116 to set the general maximum weight limit for international tracked packets at 5 kg, contingent upon the destination country's prescribed limit, whichever is lower. Furthermore, it substitutes Schedule III, Table VIII with a new 'Postage Structure of International Tracked Packet Service (ITPS)'. This revised table specifies country-wise postage rates for the first 50 grams and subsequent 50 gram increments. These amendments, termed the Post Office (Amendment) Regulations 2025, will be effective from April 1, 2025. The Director General, with Central Government approval and exercising powers under section 13 of the Post Office Act, 2023, has enacted these regulations.
