In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (a) of Section 3 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby authorizes the Special Land Acquisition Officer, DM`s Office, Purba Medinipur as the competent authority to perform the functions of such authority under the said Act with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, in respect of "Rehabilitation and upgradation to 2-lane with paved shoulders configuration of Nandakumar-Contai-Chandaneswar road from km 0.000 to km 25.500 and from km 41.000 to km. 64.700 of NH 116B on EPC mode" as specified in the schedule given below.
