In pursuance of clause (a) of Section 2 of the Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User in Land) Act, 1962 (50 of 1962), the Government of India has de-notified the previously appointed Competent Authority for M/s GAIL (India) Limited. The de-notified authority is Shri S Saravanan, Special Tehsildar (ADW), Sirkali Government of Tamil Nadu, who was originally notified for all Natural Gas Pipeline Projects in the State of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry. This earlier appointment was made vide Notification S.O.2671(E) dated July 8, 2024, and published in the Extraordinary Gazette of India on July 9, 2024.
