Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, vide Notification S.O. 5362(E) dated 24th November, 2025, exercised powers under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The Central Government has declared its intention to acquire land for public purpose, specifically for the widening, two-laning with paved shoulder, or four-laning, maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway No.848 (Nashik to Peth section). The land targeted for acquisition is located in the stretch from Km. 11/600 to Km. 53/600 within the Nashik district of Maharashtra. Any person interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the notification's publication date in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 3C of the Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, identified as Dy. Collector (LA)No-2, Nashik, who will provide an opportunity for hearing. The order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the Act shall be final. The land plans and other details of the land to be acquired, which total 7.0655 hectares across various villages in Dindori, Peth, and Nashik Taluks, are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office.

In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.,), maintenance, management and operation of National Highway No.848 (Nashik to Peth section) in the stretch of land from Km. 11/600 to Km. 53/600 in the district of NASHIK in the state of MAHARASHTRA, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land. Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, Dy. Collector (LA)No-2, Nashik in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final. [F.
