By Notification No. 38/2024-25, S.O. 4643(E) dated 23rd October 2024, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce), in exercise of powers under Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 and Paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, and in continuation of Notification No. 37/2015-20 dated 03.02.2016 and Notification No. 39/2015-20 dated 11.02.2016, amends the Export Policy Condition for sesame seeds (HS Code 120740, specifically 12074010 "Of Seed Quality") exported to the United States of America with effect from 16.11.2024, permitting such exports subject to the India Oilseeds & Produce Export Promotion Council (IOPEPC) being designated the competent authority to issue export certification within two working days of a request, based on a Certificate of Analysis from a NABL accredited laboratory, with detailed procedure set out in the Department of Commerce Public Notice dated 10.07.2024; the notification is signed by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade & Ex-officio Addl.
