The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Health & Family Welfare, issued Notification S.O. 3867(E) on August 22, 2025. In pursuance of sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (as amended), read with rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020, the Ministry, having been authorized by the Central Government, notified that the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is permitted to perform voluntary Aadhaar authentication. This authentication is for verifying the identity of candidates during various stages of national level medical examinations conducted by NBEMS, utilizing Yes/No or/and eKYC authentication facilities. NBEMS is required to adhere to all relevant provisions of the Act, rules, regulations made thereunder, and directions issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India.
