The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 2810(E) dated June 24, 2025, issued by SHAIKH AMINKHAN, Director, declared its intention to acquire land for public purpose. This action is exercised under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The land is required for the building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.), maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway NH-717B, specifically along the stretch from Km. 0.000 to Km. 15.300 (Rhenock-Rongli Bazaar section) in the PAKYONG district of SIKKIM state. Any person interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the notification's publication date in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 3C of the Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, identified as the District Collector, stating the grounds. The Competent Authority will provide an opportunity for a hearing, either in person or through a legal practitioner, and their order under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the Act shall be final. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The Schedule details land to be acquired in the state of Sikkim, district Pakyong, across villages including Aritar, Rongli Bazar, Rhenock, Tarpin, Dalapchand, Rhenock Bazar, Mulukey, and Sudunglahka, totaling approximately 5.1994 hectares, comprising both private and government land.

No. NHIDCL/PMU-RHENOCK/NH-717B/Rhenock-Rongli/LA/3A] SHAIKH AMINKHAN, Director MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 24th June, 2025 S.O. 2810(E).— In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.,), maintenance, management and operation of NH-717B in the stretch of land from Km. 0.000 to Km. 15.300 (Rhenock-Rongli Bazaar section) in the district of PAKYONG in the state of SIKKIM, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land. Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, District Collector in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final.
