Publication of Notification in the Extraordinary Gazette of India under Section 6(1) of the Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines (ARUL) Act 1962 regarding declaration of acquisition of the Right of User in Land for East West Pipeline (EWPL)

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-25042026-272086 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1997] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, APRIL 23, 2026/VAISAKHA 3, 1948 2918 GI/2026 (1) MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 23rd April, 2026 S.O. 2070(E). - Whereas by notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, number S.O. 5725 (A) dated the 3rd December 2025, issued under sub-section (1) of section (3) of the Petroleum & Minerals Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User in Land) Act, 1962 (50 of 1962) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the right of user in the land, specified in the Schedule appended to that notification where a pipeline was laid for transportation of natural gas from the sources in the State of Andhra Pradesh of M/s Reliance Industries Limited, to various consumers in the country by M/s Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure Limited, now known as Pipeline Infrastructure Limited. And whereas, the copies of the said Gazette notification were made available to the public on the 10 December 2025; And whereas objections received from the public for acquisition of right of user for the said pipeline had been considered and disposed by the Competent Authority: And whereas the Competent Authority has under sub-section (1) of section (6) of the said Act, submitted report to the Central Government for acquisition of Right of User in lands appended to the Schedule; And whereas the Central Government, after considering the said report and on being satisfied that the said land is required for the pipeline laid, has decided to acquire the right of user therein; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 6 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the right of user in the land specified in the Schedule, appended to this notification, are hereby acquired; And, further, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of section 6 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs that the right of user in the said land shall instead of vesting in the Government of India, vest, on the date of the publication of the declaration, in M/s Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure Limited, now known as Pipeline Infrastructure Limited, free from encumbrances.
