The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 967(E) dated 24th February, 2026, declares the acquisition of land for the purpose of building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management, and operation of NH-332A. This declaration is made by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 3D of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). This follows a prior notification, S.O. 6070 Dated:29/12/2025, published under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the said Act, which expressed the Central Government's intention to acquire the land specified in its Schedule. The land is located in the stretch from Km. 0 to Km. 54.828 in the CHENGALPATTU district of TAMIL NADU. The substance of the initial notification was published in "The Hindu (English)" dated 03.01.2026, as required by sub-section (3) of section 3A. Objections filed under Section 3-C were received, considered, and settled by the Competent Authority, which then submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 3D. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th February, 2026

S.O. 967(E).―Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, S.O. 6070 Dated:29/12/2025, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-
section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule
annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation
of NH-332A in the stretch of land from Km. 0 to Km. 54.828 in the district of CHENGALPATTU in the state of
TAMIL NADU

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in "The Hindu (English)" dated
03.01.2026, "Dinamalar(Tamil)" dated 03.01.2026 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th February, 2026

S.O. 967(E).―Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, S.O. 6070 Dated:29/12/2025, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-
section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule
annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation
of NH-332A in the stretch of land from Km. 0 to Km. 54.828 in the district of CHENGALPATTU in the state of
TAMIL NADU

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in "The Hindu (English)" dated
03.01.2026, "Dinamalar(Tamil)" dated 03.01.2026 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.

| 1.  | Short title and commencement       |                |

|     | (1) This Act may be called the     |                |
|     | Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation   |                |
|     | Act, 2019.                         |                |
|     |                                    |                |
|     | (2) It shall come into force on    |                |
|     | such date as the Central Government|                |
|     | may, by notification in the        |                |
|     | Official Gazette, appoint:         |                |
|     |                                    |                |
|     | Provided that different dates may  |                |
|     | be appointed for different         |                |
|     | provisions of this Act and any     |                |
|     | reference in any such provision to |                |
|     | the commencement of this Act shall |                |
|     | be construed as a reference to the |                |
|     | coming into force of that          |                |
|     | provision.                         |                |

| 2.  | Definitions                        |                |
|     |                                    |                |
|     | In this Act, unless the context    |                |
|     | otherwise requires,―                |                |
|     |                                    |                |
|     | (a) "appointed day" means the      |                |
|     | date which the Central Government  |                |
|     | may, by notification in the        |                |
|     | Official Gazette, appoint under    |                |
|     | sub-section (2) of section 1;      |                |
|     |                                    |                |
|     | (b) "article" means an article     |                |
|     | of the Constitution;               |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (c) "existing State of Jammu      |                |
|     | and Kashmir" means the State of    |                |
|     | Jammu and Kashmir as existing      |                |
|     | immediately before the appointed   |                |
|     | day;                               |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (d) "law" includes any enactment,  |                |
|     | Ordinance, regulation, order, bye- |                |
|     | law, rule, scheme, notification or |                |
|     | other instrument having,        |                |
|     | immediately before the appointed   |                |
|     | day, the force of law in the       |                |
|     | existing State of Jammu and        |                |
|     | Kashmir or any part thereof;       |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (e) "Lieutenant Governor" means    |                |
|     | the Lieutenant Governor appointed  |                |
|     | under article 239 of the           |                |
|     | Constitution for the Union         |                |
|     | territory of Jammu and Kashmir or  |                |
|     | for the Union territory of Ladakh, |                |
|     | as the case may be;                |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (f) "notification" means a         |                |
|     | notification published in the      |                |
|     | Official Gazette;                  |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (g) "population ratio" in relation |                |
|     | to the Union territory of Jammu    |                |
|     | and Kashmir and Union territory    |                |
|     | of Ladakh means the ratio of       |                |
|     | population of Jammu and Kashmir    |                |
|     | division as per 2011 census and    |                |
|     | Ladakh division as per 2011        |                |
|     | census respectively;               |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (h) "sitting member" in relation   |                |
|     | to the House of the People or the  |                |
|     | Legislative Assembly, means a      |                |
|     | person who immediately before the  |                |
|     | appointed day is a member of that  |                |
|     | House or the Legislative Assembly; |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (i) "Union territory of Jammu      |                |
|     | and Kashmir" means the Union       |                |
|     | territory of Jammu and Kashmir     |                |
|     | formed under section 3;            |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (j) "Union territory of Ladakh"    |                |
|     | means the Union territory of       |                |
|     | Ladakh formed under section 3;     |                |
|     |                                    |
|     | (k) words and expressions used and |                |
|     | not defined in this Act but defined|                |
|     | in the Constitution have the       |                |
|     | meanings respectively assigned to  |                |
|     | them in the Constitution.          |                |
