NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th March, 2025
F. No. NIT/AP/Estt-145/2023 (E). - In exercise of the powers conformed by sub- section (2) of section 26 of
National Institute of Technology, Science Education and Research Act, 2007 (29 of 2007), with the approval of the
Visitors of the National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh, the Board of the National Institute of Technology
Arunachal Pradesh, hereby makes the following statutes to amend the First Statutes of the National Institute of
Technology, namely:-
1. (1) The Statutes may be called the First Statutes of the National Institute of Technology (Amendment)
Statutes, 2025.
(2) They shall apply to the National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh.
(3) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the First statues National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh (herein after referred to as the
principal Statutes), in Statues 14, after sub-statue (IV), the following sub- statues shall be inserted, namely_
"(v) In the event of occurrence of any vacancy in the office of the Chairperson of the Board of Governors by
reason of expiry of his or her tenure, death, resignation or otherwise or in the event of the Chairperson being
unable to discharge his or her functions owing to absence, illness or any other causes, the Chairperson of an
Institute of National Importance, may discharge the functions assigned to the Chairperson under section16 of
the Act, for a period of six months or till the nomination of a regular Chairperson, whichever is earlier, with the
approval of the Visitors and in case of expiry of tenure, the Visitors may extended the term of the incumbent
Chairperson for a period of six months or till the nomination of a regular Chairperson, whichever is earlier.”
3. In the principal Statutes, in Statutes 17, sub- statutes (15) shall be omitted.
