7898 GI/202 3 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 727] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY , DECEMBER 22, 2023/ PAU SHA 1, 1945 CG-DL-E-23122023-250872 MINISTRY OF ROA D TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOT IFICATION New Delhi, the 2 2nd December , 2023 G.S.R. 911(E).—The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conf erred by section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), is hereby published as required by sub -section (1) of section 212 of the said Act for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of thirty days from the dat e on which the copies of this notification as published in the Official Gazette, are made available to the public; Objections and suggestions to these draft rules, if any, may be sent to the Additional Secretary (MVL), Ministry of Road Transport and High ways, Transport Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi -110 001 or on the email: comments [email protected]; The objections or suggestions which may be received from any person in respect of the said draft rules before the expiry of the aforesaid period will be considered by the Central Government. DRAFT RULES 1. Short Title and commencement .-(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (………….. Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) Save as otherwise provided in these rules, they shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, - (i) in rule 115A, in sub -rule (10), in TABLE 2, in the heading “Applicable with effect from”, for the words and figures, “1st April, 2024” the words a nd fig ures “1st January, 2025” shall be substituted. (ii) in rule 120, in sub -rule (6), for the words and figures, “1st April, 2024” the words and figures “1st January, 2025” shall be substituted. (iii) in rule 120, in sub -rule (6), in Table 1 and Table 2 for the words and figures, “1st day of April, 2024” the words and figures “1st day of January, 2025” shall be substituted.
