NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 22nd January, 2025
G.S.R. 70 (E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 25 of the Environment
(Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to
amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, in SCHEDULE-I, in Sl. No. 74, in the notes, in serial
number 2, in paragraph (b) for the words "one year", the words "two year four months and seven days"
shall be substituted.
