Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 3816(E) dated 20th August, 2025, issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), has declared its intention to acquire land for the public purpose of building (including widening/four/six-laning), maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway No. 19. The specific stretch of land is from km. 143.200 to km. 204.300 (Chhapra-Hajipur Section) in District Saran, State of Bihar. Persons interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the notification's publication date in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 3C of the Act. Objections must be made in writing to the competent authority, the District Land Acquisition Officer, Saran, who will provide an opportunity for hearing. Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the Act shall be final. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the competent authority's office. The Schedule details land to be acquired in Taluks Revelganj, Chhapra, and Garkha, across villages such as Auli, Methawalia, Mukrera, Phakuli, Mehian, Malamirza Tukra, Jalalpur, Bishunpura, Barhampur 277, Sanrha, Mawna, Malaserpur, Mobarakpur, and Moazampur, totaling approximately 4.8107 hectares, comprising mostly private residential land, along with some government land for 'Pain', 'Rasta', and 'Bandh'. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-21082025-265583 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2025/SHRAVANA 29, 1947 S.O. 3712] MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 20th August, 2025 S.O. 3816(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building (widening/four/six-laning, etc), maintenance, management and operation of National Highway No. 19 on the stretch of land from km. 143.200 to km. 204.300 (Chhapra-Hajipur Section) in District Saran in the state of Bihar hereby declares its intention to acquire such land. Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section (1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the competent authority, namely, the District Land Acquisition Officer, Saran in writing, and shall set out the grounds thereof and the competent authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the competent authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final. The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available and can be inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the competent authority.
