The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued Notification G.S.R. 301(E) on 17th April, 2026, published on 21st April, 2026, to further amend the Aviation Turbine Fuel (Regulation of Marketing) Order, 2001, through the Aviation Turbine Fuel (Regulation of Marketing) Amendment Order, 2026. This amendment, enacted under section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), introduces several changes to the principal order. Specifically, in clause 2, sub-clause (ii) is substituted with a new definition for "aviation turbine fuel" as a complex mixture of hydrocarbons conforming to IS 1571 specification or its blend with synthesised hydrocarbons as specified in IS 17081. Additionally, in sub-clause (v) of clause 2, the letters and words "IBP Co. Limited" are omitted. Furthermore, clause 8 of the principal order sees sub-clause (C) substituted to mandate that the provisions of section 103 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), relating to search and seizure, shall apply to searches and seizures under this order. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-21042026-271967 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 277] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2026/VAISAKHA 1, 1948 MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 17th April, 2026 G.S.R. 301(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), the Central Government hereby makes the following order further to amend the Aviation Turbine Fuel (Regulation of Marketing) Order, 2001, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement:- (1) This order may be called the Aviation Turbine Fuel (Regulation of Marketing) Amendment Order, 2026. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Aviation Turbine Fuel (Regulation of Marketing) Order, 2001 (hereinafter referred to as the principal order), in clause 2, (i) for sub-clause (ii), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely : "aviation turbine fuel" is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons conforming to IS 1571 specification or its blend with synthesised hydrocarbons as specified in IS 17081. (ii) in sub-clause (v), the letters and words “IBP Co. Limited" shall be omitted. 3. In the principal order, in clause 8, for sub-clause (C), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely : "(C) the provisions of section 103 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), relating to search and seizure shall, as far as may be, apply to searches and seizures under this order”.
