                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 2566(E) dated 19th May, 2026, declares the acquisition of land for the National Highway-54. This declaration is made by the Central Government under sub-section (1) and sub-section (2) of section 3D of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). This follows a previous intention to acquire, declared by Notification S.O. 5251-E dated 18th November, 2025, issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the said Act. The land is located on the stretch from Km 0.0 to Km 49.700 (Hanumangarh-Kenchiya section) in the District of Hanumangarh, State of Rajasthan. The substance of the initial notification was published in Dainik Varnamala on 26th December, 2025, and The Indian Express on 27th December, 2025, as per sub-section (3) of section 3A. The Competent Authority considered and settled objections filed under Section 3-C and submitted its report to the Central Government. Upon publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the total land area of 14.6332 hectares, comprising both private and government land across various villages (including 26 LLW, 2 NWN, 03 STD, 1 STG, 3 NWN, 07 JDW), will vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances. Key entities involved as land owners/account holders include individuals, Municipality Hanumangarh, Public Works Department, Government of Rajasthan, Railway Department, Government of India, and Government Office Hanumangarh Junction. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 19th May, 2026

S.O. 2566(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport
and Highways, 5251-E Dated:18/11/2025 , published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-
section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule
annexed to the said notification for building, Maintenance, management and operation of National Highway- 54 on
the stretch of land from Km 0.0 to Km 49.700 (Hanumangarh- Kenchiya section) in the District of Hanumangarh in
the State of Rajasthan.

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in Dainik Varnamala on dated
26.12.2025 & The Indian Express on dated 27.12.2025; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.

Brief description of the land to be acquired, with or without structure, falling within the National Highway-54
on the stretch of land from Km 0.0 to Km 49.700 (Hanumangarh- Kenchiya section) in the District of
