The substituted text clarifies that a rear-view mirror, devices for indirect vision, guard rail, direction indicator, rub-rail (rubber beading) with a maximum thickness of 20 millimeter on each side of the body or side foot step, or sensors along with their casing used for advanced driver assistance systems (such as Blind Spot Information System, Moving Off Information system), or systems fitted on tippers and dumpers to enclose the load body (as per the second proviso to rule 138B), shall not be taken into consideration when measuring the overall width of a motor vehicle. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-19082026-275576 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 671] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 2026/SHRAVAN 26, 1948 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA: EXTRAORDINARY MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS CORRIGENDUM New Delhi, the 14th August, 2026 G.S.R. 737(E).— In the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways number G.S.R 712(E), dated the 28th July, 2026, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i), for Sr. No. 3, the following shall be substituted namely:- "3. In the said rules, in rule 93, in sub-rule (1), in clause (B), for sub-clause (i), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely:— (i) A rear-view mirror, or devices for indirect vision, or guard rail or a direction indicator or rub-rail (rubber beading) having maximum thickness of 20 millimeter on each side of the body or side foot step, or sensors along with their casing used for advanced driver assistance systems such as Blind Spot Information System, Moving Off Information system, etc., or the system fitted on tippers and dumpers to enclose the load body as per the provision given in second proviso to rule 138B, shall not be taken into consideration in measuring the overall width of a motor vehicle and the above devices shall be within the prescribed dimension, if so specified in the respective standards.".
