The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 3164(E) dated 16th June, 2026, issued from New Delhi, has declared that land is required for public purpose. This declaration is made by the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The land, described in the accompanying Schedule, is needed for the building (including widening, two-lane with paved shoulder, or four-laning), maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway NH-205-K. Specifically, the land falls within the Ludhiana-Rupnagar Section (Km 37.700 to Km 66.440) and the Ludhiana Bypass Design (Km. 0.000 to Km. 18.500) in the District of Ludhiana, State of PUNJAB. The total area of land to be acquired is 1.88419 Hectares, comprising private agriculture, Gair Mumkin, Gair Mumkin Sadak, and Gair Mumkin Rasta types, located in Taluk Samrala, specifically in villages Machiwara (278) and Chuharpur (71). Any person interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the notification's publication date to the Competent Authority, the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Samrala, in writing, stating the grounds. The Competent Authority will provide a hearing, and its order, made under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act, shall be final. No. 900/3/PIU-LDH/BM/LOT4-PKG1/LOT6-PKG6/LA/3a/3A1] 4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA: EXTRAORDINARY MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th June, 2026 [PART II-SEC. 3(ii)] S.O. 3164(E). — In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land,the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.,), maintenance, management and operation of NH-205-K in the stretch of land from Ludhiana -Rupnagar Section Km 37.700 to Km 66.440 and Ludhiana Bypass Design Km. 0.000 to Km. 18.500 in the District of Ludhiana in the state of PUNJAB; Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Samrala in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final. The land plans and other details of the land to be acquired under their notification are available and can be inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
