L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-19052026-272699 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2461] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2026/VAISAKHA 29, 1948 3565 GI/2026 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS [Northern Railway (Construction Organization)] New Delhi, the 18th May, 2026 S.O. 2553(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways No. S.O. 5516(E) dated 01 December 2025, published in the Gazette of India, (Extraordinary) dated 01 December 2025 Part II, section 3, Sub-section (ii),(hereinafter referred to as the said notification) under sub-section(1) of section 20 A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, declared the intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed in the said notification for execution of "Special Railway Project" namely "Daulatpur Chowk - Kartoli Punjab - Talwara Section and Patial Bhangala section of Nangal Dam - Talwara - Mukerian New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project" in the District of Hoshiarpur of Punjab state, And whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in “The Tribune" (English) dated 17- 12-2025 and in "Ajit Punjab" (Punjabi) dated 17-12-2025 respectively, Under Sub Section (4) of Section 20A of the said act. And whereas no Objection has been received under section 20D and the same have been disposed of by the Competent Authority. And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20(E) of the said act, the competent authority has submitted his report to the Central Government. Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the Competent Authority, and in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of the section 20 E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose: And further, in pursuance of the sub-section (2) of section 20 E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
