This notification establishes twelve new Indian Standards, including IS 551:2026 (Bonded Abrasive Products), IS 753:2026 (Textiles — Handloom Cotton Pugri Cloth), IS 1364 (Part 3):2026 (Hexagon Nuts), IS 2028:2026 (Open Jaw Wrenches), IS 2029:2026 (Ring Wrenches), IS 6742:2026 (Aircraft — Jacking Pads), IS 8622:2026 (Wire Wound Sliding Contact Rheostats), IS 15742:2026 (Textiles — Clothing Made of Limited Flame Spread Materials), IS 16111:2026 (Medical Textiles — Elastic Bandage), IS 19393:2026 (Textiles — Sports Ropes), IS 19520 (Part 3):2026 (Internal Combustion Engines — Piston Rings — Coil-Spring-Loaded Oil Control Rings), and IS 19521:2026 (Internal Combustion Engines — Piston Rings — Expander/Rail Oil-Control Ring). All these new standards were established on February 4, 2026. Concurrently, corresponding older standards (e.g., IS 551:2018, IS 753-1983, IS 1364 (Part 3):2018, IS 2028:2004, IS 2029:1998, IS 6742:2013, IS 8622:1999, IS 15742:2007, IS 16111:2013) will remain in force until their withdrawal on August 4, 2026. Some new standards, specifically IS 19393:2026, IS 19520 (Part 3):2026, and IS 19521:2026, do not have corresponding older standards listed for withdrawal.
