ORDER
New Delhi, the 17th October, 2024
S.O. 4569(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016
(11 of 2016), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the opinion that it is
necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest, hereby makes the following Order to amend the Bicycles- Retro
Reflective Devices (Quality Control) Order, 2023, namely:-
(1) This order may be called the Bicycles- Retro Reflective Devices (Quality Control) Amendment
Order, 2024.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Bicycles-Retro Reflective Devices (Quality Control) Order, 2023, in paragraph 2, the following provisos
shall be inserted, namely:-
Provided that nothing in this order shall apply to goods or articles imported by a manufacturer for
manufacturing bicycles in India for export subject to the condition that the manufacturer furnishes a self-declaration in
this regard in its letter-head signed by its authorized signatory to the Central Government mentioning the invoice number
and other relevant details of the import consignment and an undertaking that the goods or articles so imported shall not
be put to any other use or sold in the domestic market and the manufacturer shall maintain the record of such goods and
articles imported and its product for verification or audit by the Government authorities concerned:
Provided further that nothing in this Order shall apply for two hundred numbers of goods or articles imported
for the purpose of research and development by manufacturers of bicycles or bicycle reflectors per year subject to the
condition that such imported goods and articles shall not be sold commercially and shall be disposed of as a scrap and
the manufacturer shall maintain a year-wise record of such goods or articles and furnish the same, if so desired by
Government authorities.
