The Bureau of Indian Standards, operating under the Department of Consumer Affairs, issued Notification Ref: HQ-PUB015/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1290) on 14th July 2025, in pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The affected standards are IS 8156: 2024 (Textiles — Synthetic Hook and Loop Tape Fasteners), IS 8481: 2020 (Oxidation Hair Dyes), IS 17631: 2022 (Work Chairs), IS 17632: 2022 (General Purpose Chairs and Stools), IS 17634: 2022 (Storage Units), IS 17635: 2022 (Beds), IS 17637: 2021 (Performance Requirements of Surface Finishes for Furniture Applications), and IS 19103: 2025 (Coir Pith Block).
