Detailed Summary

The Bureau of Indian Standards, operating under the Department of Consumer Affairs, issued a notification on July 14, 2025, published in The Gazette of India on July 17, 2025, under reference HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1289). In accordance with Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, this notification establishes 67 new Indian Standards, with an effective date of establishment being July 10, 2025. These new standards, ranging from IS 446:2025 to IS 19303:2025, cover diverse areas including specifications for rubber hoses, textiles, methods of testing for coal, coke, petroleum and its products, various chemicals for the rubber industry, milk cans, cycle rubber tubes, agricultural machinery, plastics testing, tourism services, cosmetics, space systems, and automotive fuels. Concurrently, many superseded Indian Standards, such as IS 446:2017 and IS 514:1992, will remain in force until their withdrawal on January 10, 2026.
