The Bureau of Indian Standards, operating under the Department of Consumer Affairs, issued a notification dated 4th November 2025 (Ref: HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1362)) in accordance with Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. This notification establishes several new Indian Standards, all effective from 03 November 2025. Specifically, IS 7471: 2025, titled "Recommendation for Polarity of Earth Connections and Marking of Electrical Equipment for Automobiles (First Revision)", replaces IS 7471: 1974, which is scheduled for withdrawal on 03 May 2026. Similarly, IS 9760: 2025, titled "Dimensions for Coupling Arrangements Between Towing Vehicle and Trailer (First Revision)", replaces IS 9760 — 1981, also to be withdrawn on 03 May 2026. Additionally, two new standards are established without replacing previous ones: IS 19365: 2025 "Mating Nucleus Hive for Apis mellifera – Specification" and IS 19414: 2025 "Textiles — Helideck Landing Net Made from Sisal or Manila Ropes — Specification".
