In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, the Bureau of Indian Standards, Department of Consumer Affairs, issued a notification (Ref. HQ-PUB015/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1049)) dated 3rd October 2024 notifying amendments to Indian Standards established on 30th September 2024, comprising Amendment No. 1 (September 2024) to IS 302-2-23: 2009 'Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances, Part 2, Section 23: Appliances for Skin or Hair Care' (First Revision), Amendment No. 2 (September 2024) to IS 15748: 2022 (ISO 11612: 2015) 'Protective Clothing - Clothing to Protect Against Heat and Flame - Minimum Performance Requirements' (First Revision), and Amendment No. 2 (September 2024) to IS 16655: 2017 (ISO 11611: 2015) 'Textiles - Protective Clothing for Use in Welding and Allied Processes', with the pre-amendment versions of the first two standards remaining valid concurrently until 29th March 2025. The notification (ADVT.-III/4/Exty./579/2024-25) was signed by Chitra Gupta, Scientist G and Deputy Director General (Hallmarking).
